Who is a good speaker?

This is it!

Speaking is always a challenge. We can talk, of course, we have big mouths, but speaking always comes with a certain conventions.

One has to follow certain ground rules to speak, and I can assure you, these aren’t rules that are necessarily going to clip your wings, in that, I promise they won’t make you weak in your gut. Easy-peezy!

Let’s go through some of these:

  1. Open your mouth: Okay, you might probably think of me as a doofus for stating the obvious, but this is a proven solution. How can you speak if you keep your mouth shut?
  2. Keep your eyes semi-open: See, no pun intended, you probably have experienced classic heckling, but think about it, you have experienced it because you have seen it. What if you don’t see it? Keep your eyes semi-closed, and you will only see what is essential. How do you know what is essential? Next point.
  3. Essentiality: Think about the purpose why you are speaking. Mostly you’ll arrive at a single-point conclusion that there was no purpose in the first place. This is when you’ll realize that you really have nothing to gain or lose. Just speak.
  4. Posture: Try standing upright. If you can’t, lean onto one foot, if that foot hurts, try the other one. Lean on an object, if you can find any. Don’t be harsh on yourself. Remember you are there to speak, not stand.
  5. Eye contact: Remember how your eyes are semi-closed, so if you wish to make an eye contact in that state, idk, you might fall in love.
  6. Keep breathing: Just because you are speaking doesn’t mean you should give up on the most fundamental task of breathing.

Look, all jokes aside, every individual has her/his own experience when they attempt something for the first time. My humble take on suggestions, steps, rules…is that these conventions add the baggage that one carries with oneself, and these are what causes constraints in performance.

Not the one against order, but if they are tall, the chances of you coming up short are high.
